The challenge
CrossNet Ministries provides safe spaces for young people to grow, learn and have fun while experiencing the love of God. Serving Eastern Lancaster County (ELANCO), Pennsylvania, the nonprofit runs four core program areas: youth, food and nutrition, social services and community.
As the organization grew, its technology didn't keep pace. Team members managed programs across three separate systems, with most of the day-to-day work happening in spreadsheets and disconnected tools. Every update, report and status check required manual effort.
The impact went beyond inconvenience. Comprehensive, up-to-date reporting was out of reach, which made data-driven decisions harder to support. Staff time went into maintenance and tracking instead of program delivery, and the manual approach left more room for error. Leadership lacked a clear, real-time view into how programs were performing or where support was most needed.
CrossNet set out to change that with Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, aiming to streamline workflows, improve reporting accuracy, cut the time spent compiling reports and give leadership better visibility into program outcomes.
The TELUS Digital solution
TELUS Digital helped CrossNet Ministries consolidate its three disparate systems into a single Salesforce environment, using our proprietary Accelerator to tailor the implementation to the nonprofit's specific needs.
The team implemented Salesforce's Program and Outcome Management modules, giving CrossNet a centralized platform to monitor program performance and measure impact across all four program areas. Bringing everything into one environment improved data accessibility and removed the redundancies that came with maintaining three separate systems.
TELUS Digital also built advanced reporting capabilities directly into Salesforce, so the organization could generate comprehensive, current reports without manual compilation. To balance collaboration with confidentiality, the team designed a custom sharing model for notes and programs, keeping sensitive information secure while still enabling team members to collaborate when needed.
The results
With Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud in place, CrossNet Ministries moved from three disconnected systems to one unified platform, and the change showed up quickly in reporting and day-to-day operations.
- The organization can now generate accurate compliance reports across five programs and more than 100 benefits with far less manual effort
- Leadership has real-time insight into team activity, helping them better support both volunteers and staff
- Programs that once lived in spreadsheets are now tracked and measured in a single, centralized system
- A custom sharing model keeps sensitive notes protected while still enabling collaboration where it's needed
